Crystal Palace Shocks Chelsea 1-0

Mar 29, 2014 5:43 PM

Crystal Palace shocked by the top of the Premier League table by beating Chelsea 1-0, their first win over the Blues since 1990.

Palace scored on a John Terry own goal.

It was the Blues' second straight away loss following their defeat at Aston Villa.

Julian Speroni twice denied Eden Hazard, the second a stunning save when Hazard was through one-on-one.

The loss was José Mourinho's first against promoted side during his time with Chelsea, Inter Milan or Real Madrid.

Ronaldo: Referee Committed Many Errors, We Aren't Treated Equally

Mar 24, 2014 1:07 AM

Undiano Mallenco awarded three penalty kicks in Barcelona's 4-3 win over Real Madrid, with all three eliciting skepticism.

Cristiano Ronaldo was fouled at the edge of the penalty box by Dani Alves, which likely should have been a free kick. Sergio Ramos was given a red card for fouling Neymar in the box in which the contact was minimal at best, while Andres Iniesta fell down when being sandwiched by Dani Carvajal and Xabi Alonso. The third penalty and game-winner for Barcelona was the clearest mistake by Mallenco.

"The referee was white as a sheet, very nervous and he committed many errors," said Ronaldo. "It obviously bugs certain people if Madrid are successful and winning. We needed a referee of the right stature for this game. I've been here for a long time and it seems to generate a lot of envy if we are doing well. People wanted Barcelona back in the title race and now they have that. We aren't treated equally."

Barcelona Beats Real 4-3 To Draw One Point Behind La Liga Leaders

Mar 24, 2014 11:24 AM

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid by a final score of 4-3 in the second El Clásico of the 13-14 season.

With the three points, Barcelona is now one behind Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid. Atlético is technically in first place on head-to-head over Real.

Andrés Iniesta scored the first goal on a brilliant diagonal pass from Lionel Messi.

Ángel Di María and Karim Benzema connected on goals in the 20th and 24th minute. Gerard Piqué saved Barcelona from allowing a third Benzema goal with a save with his foot at goal.

Messi evened up the score just a few minutes before halftime.

Real went up 3-2 in the 55th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo drew a foul on Dani Alves at the edge of the area.

Neymar drew a foul on Sergio Ramos that led to a converted penalty kick for Messi and a red card for Ramos. Iniesta drew a penalty in the 84th minute, which was converted again by Messi for his hat-trick and the all-important three points for Barcelona.

There were seven yellow cards given in the match along with the red card for Ramos.

Barcelona had 68 percent of the possession and Messi (10.0) and Iniesta (9.1) had the best WhoScored ratings.
